The start of the new year is always a good time to reflect and work out where you are going, what your goals are – and generally get life sorted!.

As such, I have a fantastic giveaway for you from me this month – and thats a set of 2 gorgeous Filofax Flex Planner/Notepad Books:-  The Filofax Flex A5 Cover – Slate  and the Filofax Flex Slim Cover – Slate
Filofax Flex Slate a5 and Slim front covers of First Edition - via

I found these quite recently and love the idea of having a notepad system as an addition to my diary (a trusted Filofax as you will know!), that I can grab and take to meetings or just simply to write notes on the go.

They are really handy to carry around, look more professional than a simple notepad, and are also a great alternative system to a more usual Filofax system – offering a good deal of flexibility to personalise to suit your needs.

The slate colouring these planners are in (they do come in other colours as well) is a stunning very dark grey – with a textured finish. The look and feel of them is wonderful!

Both come with 2 notepads attached, a moveable pen holder, and other pockets for keeping business cards and notes inside. You can arrange the notepads and the pen holder as you like (there are tabs to slot them into so you could have one large notepad in the centre, with a pen on the side, or have one pad on each side as shown below:-

The notepads simply slot into place, and refills can be bought from places such as Amazon or Filofax directly. You can also add in various other types of insert to completely customise what you use it for.

For example, diaries are available, and you can slot the inserts in whatever ways you want to work for you.

I am giving away the two different sizes together as you could have the slim size for your handbag or on the go – and use the a5 for your diary, writing down your goals, or any other notes you want – this gives the maximum flexibility for you to create an organised system that works for you.

The RRP of these systems are £29 for the a5 and £17 for the Slim.

Oh noooooooo! I wrote ever such a long comment and your Captcha said I had the task wrong (which I hadn’t) and deleted it! So here’s a brief version of what I said:

    Sort out my books.

    • Oh No Jane! – I will look into the captcha – thanks for the heads up!

My main goal this year is to simplify life and gain more time for my partner and family. I have a wedding to plan this year and we want to keep that simple too but there is still lots to organise so having a portable system to keep track of tasks and options would be great!

    • Hi Sara – congratulations! I hope the wedding planning goes well!

  • Mel Roberts

I just became a single mum so my main goal for this year is to get my new flat in order and generally declutter the junk I acquired throughout my marriage.

    • Hi Mel – Sounds like a fresh start for you – I really hope all goes well x

  • Rachel Dunkerley

To declutter and organise the house so that everything has a place it belongs.

  • Hannah Ellis

Having a large family it would certainly help me be more organised and not forget all the family’s important thing. My main goal this year is to be happy, organised and spend more time with the family, this will help me achieve that

  • Rashid Rashidov

At the end of last year I bought a new apartment. This year I will move in. So, my goal for 2014 is to move in my new home and make a fresh and ORGANIZED start. I want my home to be organized the way I have always imagined. I hope, actually, I am sure that this will reflect other aspects of my life as well – health, fitness, career.

    All the best,

    • Hi Rashid – thanks for your answer – its a really exciting time when you move somewhere new. Take time to get to know your space and how you like to use it – and then you will be able to make decisions on how to get everything organised in the space. I look forward to hearing how its going!

  • Karen Bell

  • Danielle

Hi there, I have just this evening found your blog and love it, my goal for 2014 is to declutter my house and life big time and to organise my home, I work from home and the last few years things have fallen apart and I’m tired of all the clutter so this is the year where things WILL change!!!!
    Kind regards

Hi, this is very exciting because today while on YouTube, i discovered the filo fax!! Love them!!! This year my goal is to be more organised. I have so many responsibilities and I need a planning tool that is practical and visual. I think a filo fax is what I need. Unfortunately, they are so expensive :(. Thank you for your website its really a great benefit. I hope I become more organised this year because I suck at time management.

  • Shannen

My goal for 2014 is to do well and start university organised! I start nursing in march and these would be amazing in helping me kick start my course 🙂 x

  • My goal for 2014 is to buy my first home and declutter before we move. I have only been in my current place for a year, but it’s surprising how much rubbish we have gathered in that time! Hopefully by next Christmas I’ll be able to find the things I need where they are supposed to be!

  • dee

I have just found your blog too, mainly because of my first goal! My goals for 2014 are to organise my home so it works better for my bigger family, meaning there will be more time and space for other activities. Also to reconnect with old friends in a more personal way, sending birthday cards rather than writing on their Facebook wall or picking up the phone instead of pinging off a quick IM 🙂

    • Hi Dee – great resolutions! – I think its so special to get a card from a friend as it really shows they’ve remembered and have taken the time to get in touch in a more personal way – good luck with everything!

  • My goal for this year is to put my depression behind me once and for all. I have found it hard to tell anyone about my depression – none of my friends and family know – but I have decided it is time to be honest. I have a new therapist, new medication, and fewer stresses. Part of my treatment is to do more exercise and schedule fun activities each week. I have started well and I want to keep going with it.

    • Hi Gillian – Good luck with your year. Its great that you can talk about everything now, as it will be easier to tackle with help from those you love.

  • Diane Hewson

My goal for 2014 is to be fitter by the end of the year by creating some time on my day off to go swimming, and to do one form of exercise each weekend with my daughters.

    • Hi Diane – a great goal that gets two things done at the same time! – I love keeping fit with the rest of the family as its quality time

  • Nicky

Hi Chrissy, My goal is for life and not just for 2014. Need to declutter in every area possible, small house, lots of toys, clothes etc.. The attic is a huge task but did a little bit last year and made £400 so that’s my incentive for some money for school holidays.
Also started a little craft business from home so have decluttered a cupboard in the kitchen as need it for my supplies. Once its all done and a system in place then hopefully it’s will be more streamlined and easier to manage. A bit of time spent planning all these jobs will hopefully get us on the right track.
Love your updates and helpful hints..

    • Hi Nicky – sounds like a great goal – and your idea to plan everything is fantastic as you will be able to see what you are aiming for with every smaller task done – Good luck with it all x
