{Daily Task #91} – Create new outfits

Task #91:

Take half an hour to look at your clothes with new eyes – what new outfits can you create? Put some new combinations together for the coming week and try them out.

My Tips and Advice:

So many of us wear the same things day in, day out.

We sort of have clothes blindness when it comes to making the most of what we have – but with a little clever thinking you can really breathe new life into what you have, and hopefully save money on new clothes in the process.

Mix and match what you have and try things on that you wouldn’t usually wear together – you may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

I have found that I now use more of my more special event clothes in day to day life, as I can dress more casually in them as well as dressing up. For example – a silk vest top can work amazingly with black trousers and heels and a statement necklace for the evening, but equally well with a great pair of jeans and a long cardigan during the day.

TIP – If you are struggling to see how things work on you (mirrors are difficult to get a true picture sometimes) then why not get a friend to take a photo of each outfit? Not only can you see exactly how others see you, but also if you like the outfit, you can print the photos and stick to your wardrobe door so you will always have inspiration when needed. Perfect!

    Great idea! A fresh look with a brain that is paused to really see. It has helped me immensely to lay out my outfits the night before school, work, even church. I’ve done this since high school and it has helped me. I even choose undergarments, stockings and shoes. I never was a “morning” person, but these days, it is hard for me to think in the mornings as I struggle with fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue syndrome after a fall down my basement stairs in 1994. It sure is easier to think clearly when I’m not pressed to get out the dooor
